OAK PARK (April 14, 2008) – The Oak Park Arts
District presents What’s Blooming on Harrison on Friday, May
16, 6-10 pm; Saturday, May 17, 12 pm -8 pm; Sunday, May 18,
12- 5 pm. The art walk will occur along Harrison Street from
Austin Blvd to Elmwood Ave.
During the three day art walk the galleries will host
special exhibits and events including live dance
performances at INTUIT Dance, a spring planting party at
Buzz Café, and the opening exhibit of “Fabrics and
Fabricators: Four Textile Artists” at Ridge Art Gallery. An
outdoor festival with green minded organizations will take
place on Saturday and Sunday including Chicago School of
Flower Design, Noon Solar, and MayaWorks.
Many activities for children and families are in store
all weekend long. Throughout the weekend there will be live
musicians, including Sandalwood Sitar Music Ensemble, Uptown
String, Ukulele Club of Oak Park, and Joe Plye performing
